Law with Politics LLB

Holders of a good Диплом бакалавра degree from a recognised Ukrainian higher education institution may be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes. Students with a good 5-year Specialist Diploma or 4-year Bachelor degree from a recognised higher education institution in Azerbaijan, with a minimum GPA of 4/5 or 80% will be considered for entry to postgraduate taught programmes at the University of Birmingham. The practice-based dissertation is ideal for those who have begun careers and are returning to study after time in employment, or those who are aiming to enhance their employability by obtaining experience within related professional contexts. It offers a more applied, contextualised approach to independent research than the more traditional dissertation route. In addition to completing 160 hours on placement, you are asked to produce a practical output/project for the organisation hosting your placement. This can take various forms, such as a report for internal use, a piece of research, a contribution to a report or policy document, a video, a feature article for a newspaper or another form or media output.

This module will build on the knowledge that students will have acquired during Stage 1 . This module will develop student learning by focusing on foundational legal aspects of EU law as well as rules governing selected substantive areas of EU law, also taking into account the relevance of these rules to the UK. The module convenor will set out specific areas of study in the relevant module guide. The module also gives students an introduction to the basic legal skills that they will develop further in their other modules throughout the degree. The focus here is on specific exercises to support exploration and use of the library resources that are available, both in paper copy and electronically through the legal databases, and on understanding practices of legal citation.

Study abroad

Whatever your political objectives, we’re one of the few UK firms who can give charities, trade unions, political parties, local authorities and companies big picture advice. On our distance-learning and blended-learning courses, the emphasis is very much on independent, self-directed learning and you will be expected to manage your own learning, with the support of your module tutors and various learning technologies. Students with a minimum average of 14 out of 20 (or 70%) on a 4-year Licence, Bachelor degree or Diplôme d’Etudes Superieures de Commerce or Diplôme d’Ingénieur or a Maîtrise will be considered for Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters degrees. Students who have completed a Masters degree from a recognised institution will be considered for PhD study. All international applicants to this course will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £2,000 on receipt of an offer, to secure their place. It focuses on major trends and key developments while exploring in some detail the key institutions relevant to US politics. Focusing on the US politics from the Reagan presidency onwards, the aim is to equip you with an understanding of one of the major ‘theatres of politics’. Introduction to Political Concepts and Theory explores the foundations of political analysis and the concepts, approaches and methods through which we understand the subject. The module will critically examine the core ideas central to the study of politics. In Year 1, you will study a number of compulsory modules to ensure you learn the fundamentals of law.
